POCSO & RAPE ACCUSED ARRESTED FORM MIZORAM BY NAMCHI POLICE
Namchi police have nabbed a POCSO and rape accused man from Mizoram. The Namchi PS caught the 26 year old man who was being searched for after absconding right after the crime was reported.
The Namchi PS released a statement saying that “in connection with Namchi PS case no: 42/2022 dated: 13/08/2022 u/s 5(j) (ii)/6 of POCSO Act, 2012, the accused person named Chaturbhuj Rajput, 26 yrs, r/o Gram Mungali, Teh- Gotigian Mekh, Narsimpur, Madhya Pradesh was absconding after the commission of the crime “.
The search for the accused began soon after the reporting of the crime. In this context, the I.O of the case PI Dawa Lahmu Pakhrin, SHO/Namchi PS made multiple efforts to nab the accused but the accused was absconding and went into hiding. The accused was constantly kept under technical surveillance. After months of effort, finally he was traced to Mizoram. A team led by the I.O PI Dawa Lhamu Pakhrin, SHO/Namchi PS and consisting of ASI C K Pradhan and HC Nayan Rana finally decided to conduct a raid in Mizoram. After serious efforts made, the accused was finally arrested from Zemabuck, Aizwal (Mizoram) on 07/12/2022. The entire operation was carried out in direct supervision of SP Namchi, Shri Manish Kumar Verma, IPS and ASP Namchi, Shri Ankur Ankesh, IPS. The technical support for nabbing the accused was provided by District Cyber Cell of Namchi Police.

The Namchi PS also stated as an advisory that, “It is worth mentioning that POCSO Act is a stringent legislation and the Namchi District Police is committed to fighting the menace of child sexual abuse. Non- Reporting of crime against children is also an offence, and so we appeal to citizens to come forward and report such crimes and help us in fighting crimes against children.”
