On October 27, 2021 Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang announced the visiting of Home Minister of India, Amit Shah on November 20, 2021.
Furthermore, Amit Shah’s main purpose to visit the State is to lay the foundation stone of Sikkim State University at Temi Tarku, South Sikkim.
Earlier he visited Sikkim as the BJP President, where he addressed the meeting of party workers at Gangtok. This will be his second time to visit the State. The visit was a part of BJP’s drive to strengthen the party base in the Northeastern states of India
