FIR registered against JAC for involving childern in Sikkim Ekta rally

Sikkim Commission for Protection of Child Rights Chairperson Roma Tamang files FIR on Joint Action Council’s Sikkim Ekta Diwas on March 8.

A written complaint was registered in the Sadar Police station on March 9.

Following the complaint a case has been registered under section 336/341PC, 1860, R/W SEC 75/83(2)/87 OF JUVENILE JUSTICE ACT, 2015.

As per police report, “A written FIR from one Roma Tamang, Chairperson of Sikkim Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Government of Sikkim to the effect that on 8/03/2023, a video is circulated in social media wherein children/students were made to participate in the rallies which was conducted by the members of Joint Action Committee (JAC) at MG Marg, Gangtok, Sikkim.”
“Under investigation, No arrests made”, informed police sources
