A delegation of the Sikkim State Cooperative Union (SICUN), led by Dr. Mangal Jit Rai, Chairman, along with P. P. Sharma, Vice Chairman and Shailesh Rai, Executive Officer, met the Governor of Sikkim at Lok Bhavan, Gangtok and formally invited him to grace the inaugural programme of the National Cooperative Conference 2026 as the Chief Guest.
The delegation briefed the Governor about the Conference, which is being organized by SICUN with financial support from the Central Education Fund (CEF), Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, in collaboration with the Cooperation Department, Government of Sikkim.
The National Cooperative Conference 2026 will be held on 25–26 June 2026 at the SICUN Auditorium, Assam Lingzey, Pakyong, Sikkim under the theme: “Sahkar Se Samriddhi: Cooperatives Driving Inclusive Growth, Innovation & Sustainable Development for Viksit Bharat.”
Around 800–900 delegates from across the country are expected to participate in the two-day event.
The Governor graciously accepted the invitation and conveyed his best wishes for the successful conduct of the Conference.
The SICUN delegation expressed its gratitude and stated that the Governor’s presence and guidance would greatly inspire the cooperative fraternity and contribute significantly to the success of the Conference.
