A luxury vehicle ran over two men over a short quarrel during the early morning hours of 1:30 AM on December 02. The incident took place at the heart of the capital MG Marg, Gangtok.
The accused are suspected to have been under the influence of alcohol.
As per the sources, it has been informed that an argument broke out between two groups. A group of six people who were employed in a hotel at Gangtok and four people from the other group identified as cab drivers.
Between the argument, two men from the group of four walked out of the scene and later came back with a luxury taxi vehicle bearing registration number Sk-01Z-1079 and drove over the group.
Dhan Kumar Chettri and Dawa Bhutia from the group were trampled by the vehicle till death and the other two have been injured.
Amongst the two deceased, Dhan kumar Chettri was a staff of a hotel at MG Marg and Dawa Bhutia was a driver from Darjeeling. The accused Pawan Subba who was driving the vehicle has been identified as a cab driver from Darjeeling.

Following the incident, Sikkim Police has registered a case under IPC 302. Three have been arrested.
