State taskforce meeting on National programme for climate change and human health held at capital

Under the direction of Mission Director, NHM, and Member Secretary SPO-NPCCHH, a State Taskforce meeting for the National Program for Climate Change and Human Health (NPCC-HH) was held at the Health Secretariat’s Conference Hall.

The meeting’s attendees included the committee’s Principle Director- Science and Technology (Nodal Department for Climate Change), Director- Agriculture Department, Additional Director- Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, and Assistant Director cum Sr. Consultant SDMA, Chief Engineer- PHE, , Head Scientist E- IMD Gangtok, JDHS- IDSP, State Programme Officer-NCD, State IEC Officer and other members referred in the committee.

The main objective of the programme was to draft the State Action Plan on Climate Change and Human Health. The committee members had in-depth discussions about how to develop and implement the State Action Plan for Climate Change and Human Health while simultaneously taking into account all aspects of its effects.

Further decisions were made along with the discussions with the aim of drafting a final State Action Plan on Climate Change and Human Health (SAPCC-HH) for effective programme implementation and also IEC materials were launched on the same.
