Started from Rongli, Pakyong District, on November 28, “Sikkim Bachao Abhiyan” by the Sikkim Democratic Front entered Gyalshing district with its party president and former CM Pawan Chamling meeting the public at Rinchenpong.
Chamling in his address accused present Sikkim Krantikari Morcha Government led by CM Prem Singh Tamang of not doing enough for the public of Soreng and Gyalshing Districts (earlier West district) and for only blaming earlier SDF government.
“It was our government who built all the Tourism sites here including Chiya-bhanjyang corridor, of which the present SKM government is claiming credit of it” said Chamling.
Former CM also accused SKM government of massive corruption and said that SKM under the leadership of PS Tamang was working for few Individuals and creating wealth for them instead of Sikkimese citizens.
“SDF 2.0 will now come with the vision and aspirations to take Sikkim in way that modern world is moving and will prove to be a party of youth” said Chamling “of which the vision document will be made public on March 4, 2023, on SDF day” he added.
Chamling who is aiming to make a comeback in 2024 state elections, after it lost to SKM in 2019, promised to make water and electricity free of cost if SDF returned to power, “after we left, the present government has increased prices in everything and has made life miserable for the poor people of Sikkim ” he said
