Sikkim Govt. to recommend Lt. Dr. Sanjay Upreti’s name for National Bravery Award

“Sikkim Government will recommend the name of Lt. Dr. Sanjay Upreti to central government for the National bravery award” Chief Minister, Government of Sikkim.

“Dr. Sanjay Upreti, a promising cardiologist of Sikkim, was struggling between life and death for the past ten days passed away on Friday morning. His demise is an irredeemable loss to State” Added CM Tamang

Further, Tamang also assured that the state government will do whatever necessary for the family of late cardiologist

Chief minister his Cabinet Medical professionals along with BJP state MLAs and Political leaders from the opposition SDF also people from various places of Sikkim attended the funeral of Late Cardiologist.
The funeral was arranged with full State Honor at Mamring today.

Late Dr. Sanjay Upreti was injured while saving his staff on December 14 at STNM. Later on December 15 he along with the medical attendant was airlifted to Neotia Getwell hospital for specialist medical care. However, On December 24 morning Dr Sanjay Upreti scummed to his injuries.

The final rites of Lt. Dr. Sanjay Upreti was arranged at his native place at Mamring, South Sikkim with full State Honor today

Dr Sanjay Upreti was born in the year 1976

He served people of Sikkim for last 16 years at STNM Sochaygang.

Late Dr Sanjay did his MBBS from King George’s Medical University, Lucknow, MD(Medicine) from Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal and Fellowship in Invasive Cardiology from Medanta The Medicity, Delhi NCR.

Also Dr Sanjay Upreti was one of the cardiologist who established Interventional Cardiology at New STNM Hospital in 2019 and he was working as Consultant Cardiologist at Department of Cardiology, New STNM Multi-Speciality Hospital.
