Sikkim Democratic Front spokesperson JB Darnal denies allegations made against him by the ruling SKM party in the on-going Sumanta Kumar’s arrest case. Darnal’s name was made public by the police in connection of the anti-371F protest case.
On his denial, Darnal challenged the state government to bring CBI to investigate the case prove their loyalty towards Sikkim and its people. In addition, Darnal claimed SKM to be involved in the entire Jantar Mantar episode
Addressing a presser here at Gangtok Darnal claimed the allegation to be baseless, “I have no connection in this case since I never tried contacting Kumar. All I did was condemn his acts on social media after which I did not pursue the matter further”, he stated.
“Therefore, neither I, nor my party President will resign from our posts, as demanded by Jacob Khaling, Political Secretary to CM cum Spokesperson SKM Party,” he added.
“I have never dared to hurt the sentiments of Sikkimese people in fact I was the first person to condemn the statements made by Kumar against Article 371F also I am ready to answer any queries regarding this issue”, said Darnal appealing the people not to pay heed to such misleads.” Added his statement.
Furthermore, Darnal counter alleged SKM party of diverting people’s attention with baseless claims and hiding their own corrupt practices, “The allegations made by SKM party is baseless, I have no connection with Jantar Mantar case. SKM is trying divert people from their corrupt practices with these sort of false allegations.”
He further accused Sikkim Police for sending him last minute notice and forcing him to acknowledge it just a few hours before addressing the media persons on Monday.
