Gangtok: The former BJP President of Sikkim, DB Chauhan, has officially resigned from the primary membership of the party. In a letter addressed to the present state BJP President DR Thapa and a copy sent to the National President JP Nadda, Chauhan has not specifically cited any reasons for his resignation.
“ I now realized that my service is no more required in the party” reads the resignation letter.
He has also thanked the party cadre, stating that he received a good support in his two tenures as a state BJP head.
While speaking with the Sikkim Chronicle over phone, Chauhan said that as of now he would not be joining any political party.
“ As of now I shall not be joining any political party, but one thing is for sure that I will never be associated with any National party in the future,” he added.
He, too, alleged that the Central BJP Committee did not get any support to state BJP I’m functioning.
“ It was unfortunate that the BJP in Sikkim was not given the full liberty to work. There were many challenges which I faced during my tenure as state President” he added.
Chauhan served as the President of Sikkim BJP twice.
