Mangan, June 14 : Mangan Dream Dance Academy, a new endeavour to foster cultural and artistic development was Inaugurated in Mangan today by Chairperson Sikkim Art, Culture and Heritage Development Board, Sanjay Dilpali Rai.
The programme had the august presence of President, Mangan Nagar Panchayat, Tshering Doma Bhutia, along with President North District Cricket Association, Rinzing Namgyal Bhutia, President All Sikkim Dance Institutes’ Association, Sushma Chettri, Members from Devot Art, Members from ‘Nari of Today’ Mangan, students, parents and local gentry.
The Chief Guest of the event, Chairperson Sanjay Dilpali Rai in his address congratulated the members of Mangan Dream Dance Academy on the major milestone. He highlighted the importance of dance and cultural activities in society, particularly in the holistic development of children.
He emphasized that such activities help nurture creativity, confidence, discipline, and cultural awareness among the younger generation. He further expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated academy would serve as a valuable platform for aspiring artists and make a significant contribution to the cultural growth and enrichment of Mangan.
Chairperson Rai also spoke about the various initiatives undertaken by the State Government to promote arts and culture in Sikkim. He highlighted how the Government has been providing opportunities, platforms, recognition, and financial assistance to artists and cultural groups across the State, enabling them to showcase their talents, preserve the rich cultural heritage of Sikkim, and pursue their artistic endeavors with greater support and encouragement.
He added that the Government’s vision extends beyond providing assistance and recognition to artists in Sikkim. It also seeks to nurture and develop both budding and established artists by enhancing their skills, capabilities, and professionalism.
President, MNP, Tshering Doma Bhutia, on behalf of the academy, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the State Government, the Chairperson, and the All Sikkim Dance Institutes’ Association for their unwavering support and encouragement. She acknowledged their contributions towards the establishment and growth of the academy and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to nurturing artistic talent and promoting cultural excellence in the region.
The inaugural event also witnessed a felicitation ceremony organised by the Mangan Dream Dance Academy, during which various individuals and organisations were honoured in recognition of their contribution and support towards the promotion of arts, culture, and community development.
