Tribal Affairs MoS steps Mangan District: assures all benefits through ‘Vibrant Village Programme’

Arjun Munda, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs arrived at Chungthang, Mangan District

The Union Minister was received with a guard of honour at ITBP Chungthang, following which, he was escorted to circumambulate the perimeters of the revered “Nyedo”, a huge rock venerated for it’s spiritual and religious significance.

Thereafter, he was welcomed by the Area MLA cum Minister Roads and Bridges Samdup Lepcha, the officials of the district and the public of Chungthang at the RDD Conference Hall where the programme was resumed. The Hon’ble Union Minister was presented with traditional momentos such as Lepcha hat, millet container and so on

The Chief Guest, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs in his address thanked everyone for their warm welcome and wished everyone on the occasion of Holi and International Women’s Day. He then mentioned the importance of assuring that the benefits of Vibrant Village Programme reach each and every citizen in all the corners of the country. He also highlighted the resolution of the Government of India to ensure the developmental progress of all the villages in India by 2047 through the Vibrant Village Programme scheme. He also said that the people need to stay connected and updated with the developmental processes in order to strengthen the traditional alongside the digital development of the nation .

Area MLA, Mangan-Lachen Samdup Lepcha in his address expressed his gratitude towards the Hon’ble Union Minister for his esteemed presence. He addressed the importance of BADP as the main source of development and livelihood in the constituency. He also highlighted the various schemes of the state government. He highlighted the need for a meditation centre and a 50 bedded Primary Health centre in Chungthang GPU.He also expressed his hope for support of the central government in the construction of Chulung-tu-sum Bhudha statue at Lachen and Lachung.

The Union Minister administered the distribution of cheques for AAMA scheme to the beneficiaries.

The programme also had cultural performance depicting the traditions of the state.

Along with the Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda the programme had the presence of APS to Minister Sandeep Mukherjee, Minister Roads and Bridges cum Area MLA, Samdup Lepcha, DC Mangan, Shri Hem Kumar Chettri, SDM Chungthang,ADC Dev Chungthang, SDPO (Chungthang, Lachen),Representative of Zilla and Gram panchayats(Chungthang),All the HOOs of line department and the public of chungthang
