Sikkim Panchayati eclection 22 concludes: about Gangtok District

Gangtok, 12th November 2022 (IPR): The counting of votes for Panchayat Elections 2022, for Territorial Constituency and Gram Panchayat Wards under Gangtok District concluded in a smooth manner at East District Zilla Panchayat Bhawan today.

The counting process for 15 Wards of Zilla and 98 Wards for Gram Panchayat commenced at 8 am in the counting hall set up at East District Zilla Panchayat Bhawan (EDZP), Gangtok and concluded at 8.20 pm.

The counting process for 15 Wards of Zilla and 98 Wards for Gram Panchayat commenced at 8 am in the counting hall set up at East District Zilla Panchayat Bhawan (EDZP), Gangtok and concluded at 8.20 pm.

After the Strong Room was opened under the supervision of Ragul K, Returning Officer in the presence of Kincho Doma Lepcha, Election Observer for Gangtok District, Candidates and their Election agents, the polled Electronic Voting Machines were shifted to the Counting Hall at EDZP Bhawan, Conference Hall. The counting began with the counting of recorded votes in EVMs, followed by counting of votes received through postal ballots and compilation of data.

A total of 16 counting tables were set up at the Counting Hall. Counting Supervisors and Counting Assistants were assigned to the respective counting tables for counting of votes along with respective officers incharge. The entire procedure of counting of votes was video recorded and was announced through the Public Address System.

The winning candidates were presented with Certificates by the Returning Officer, Gangtok Ragul K. in the presence of Election Observer Kincho Doma Lepcha.
