Department of Education Government of Sikkim on September 21, 2021 issued a notification which stated that “All ad hoc teachers who have completed eight or more years of service under the department and have not submitted their complete documents to the head office for scrutiny by the Departmental Committee are hereby directed to do the same.”

Addressing the media on September 12 Chief minister Prem Singh Tamang said “ the new policy is will benefit the teachers who are working on adhoc basis under the department, this new policy will appoint  adhoc teachers directly for eight years, and then they will be regularized unlike old policy in which the adhoc teachers had to run for extension”
