Former MLA of Yangthang Constituency, Prem Lal Subba, passes away at 57

Former MLA of Yangthang Constituency, Prem Lal Subba, passed away on Monday at his home in Tikjek, Geyzing. He was undergoing treatment at STNM and took his last breath on Monday evening at 7:10 p.m.

Prem Lal Subba was born on March 12, 1966, and was elected as MLA of Yangthang Constituency in 2009. He also served as an advisor during the SDF’s government.

Expressing his condolences on the demise of the former MLA, Chief Minister PS Tamang wrote on Facebook, “I would like to express my heartfelt condolence on the demise of the former MLA of Yanthang constituency Shri PL Subba.”

“My heart goes out to the bereaved family, relatives, and friends in this hour of grief, and pray that the departed soul rests in eternal peace.”

“Om Shanti!”

Former Chief Minister and SDF President Pawan Chamling also expressed his condolences on Facebook, saying, “I am deeply saddened to learn that Shri Prem Lal Subba is no longer with us today. He was undergoing treatment at STNM for several ailments that he had been battling for a long time. He was the former MLA of Yangthang Constituency and he also served as Advisor during the SDF Government. He was born in Tikjek, West Sikkim, on 12th March 1966. He was 57 years old when he breathed his last yesterday at 7:10pm at his home.”

“Shri P.L.Subba was a wonderful leader and human being who was with the SDF party right since the founding days of 1992-1993. The SDF party has lost a sahyaodha in him and his contributions to the SDF party will not be forgotten. I am saddened that Shri PL Subba is no longer with us today as we were hopeful for his recovery. He was a loyal friend who was committed our party’s ideology.”

“Son of Late Harkaman Limbu and Late Ran Maya Subba, he leaves behind his wife, two daughters and three sons. This is a day of mourning not just for his family but for the entire SDF party and the state. A great loss has come upon us all and especially upon his family and dear ones. On behalf of the SDF party, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family. May the almighty give strength to the bereaved family in this time of grief and may the departed soul rest in peace.”
