Landslide at 17mile JN road: One succumbed to his injuries

A labour succumbed to his injuries after being trapped under a landslide debris in 17th Mile under Sherethang police station in East Sikkim on Tuesday.

The landslide occurred in a AG Construction Company Area (mess room) and some of laborers were trapped under the landslide debris.

During the rescue operation one Kalu Tamang, 35 yrs, s/o Kumar Tamang, r/o Bhalukpong, Arunachal Pradesh succumbed to his injuries, others two had been rescued and referred to STNM hospital for their medical treatment during the course of action.

The rescue operation was conducted with the help of army/forest local.

All the labors has been shifted from effected area to new location, informs police report.

The inquest over the deadbody was conducted on presence of witnesses and the body forwarded for autopsy, witnesses were examined and recorded their statement us 161 Cr. P.C.

The case is under investigation
