“India scripts history, achieves 1 billion Covid-19 vaccine milestone”: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Friday morning. In his address to the nation he hailed the country’s achievement in crossing 1 billion covid vaccine doses administered against Covid-19 outbreak in India.

In his address he applauded every citizens of the country for being hugely successful in fighting against the pandemic. “India has scripted history by creating an extraordinary feat and it is possible due to the efforts of our 130 crore population…100 crore vaccine doses is not just a number, but a reflection of our ability. This is the picture of Naya Bharat” said PM Modi during his address.

Furthermore PM Modi also said that India has proven to the world that with continuous efforts, it is very possible to bring people under the vaccination drive. He also recalled the initial journey of the process of vaccination and the scepticism people held at the beginning. Thus, this 1 billion vaccine doses milestone is an answer to every questions and doubts, he added. 

PM Modi noted that the landmark was achieved in just nine months and he acknowledged the Indian scientists and entrepreneurs for rising to the occasion to make the country ‘Aatmanirbhar’ (self-reliant) in producing vaccines.

He further said that “on administering 100 crore doses of the coronavirus vaccine within nine months since January 16 has been a tremendous journey. The journey has been from anxiety to assurance and we have emerged stronger”

PM Modi expressed gratitude to health workers, including doctors, nurses and all those who worked on crossing 100 crore vaccinations.
