District level awareness program on Road safety held at DAC Namchi

Namchi: As part of Road safety month, the opening ceremony of the two day long District level awareness program was held at DAC, Confrence hall.

Booth Level Officers from Barfung, Poklok Kamarang, Namchi Singithang, Tumen lingi along with ADC development Rabongla, SDM Rabongla, BDO Namchi, BDO Rabongla, Meo Namchi, and other officers from the District took part in the program.

Motor Vehicle Inspector, Namchi District briefed the gathering on overview of Road safety measures and its importance. He also stressed on the Good Samartian scheme and its implementation in state along with various rules and regulations under the Motor Vehicle Act.

ADM Namchi, Anant Jain, gave brief presentation of Road safety in Sikkim, in which status of Government schemes, rules and regulations, cautions for school commutation vehicles, signboards and initiatives of Motor vehicle department to create awareness was highlighted.

Furthermore, during the program all BLOs were requested to spread the awareness of road safety through door-to-door campaign.
