Chief Minister P.S. Golay, who is currently in New Delhi for official work and meeting Union ministers for the same, interacted and spent time with around 30 patients from Sikkim staying at DKK Bhawan, and with others who are situated in different hospitals in Delhi, today.
The Chief Minister, after interacting and knowing their plights, handed over financial assistance for patients to aid their treatment during the meeting. The financial assistance, as per SKM press release was from the CM’s own side. Tamang also assured that all the required support would be done from the side of the State government to the patients, the release further informed.
The CM, in his official page posted about one of these meetings:
“I met Shri Lakchung Bhutia resident of Gnathang-Machong under Pakyong district at Old Sikkim House this morning,” the CM posted
“I was informed that his children, 7 year old Dadul Bhutia and 2 year old Samten Bhutia are undergoing medical treatment at BLK-Max Hospital. Upon knowing their condition, I provided financial aid to the family and assured them of further assistance. It is saddening to witness the children going through this ordeal at such a young age. I pray for their speedy recovery and hope they enjoy the best of health for many more years to come,” the CM expressed through his post.
The patients expressed their glee on the Chief Minister meeting them at Delhi, for listening to their plights, and for extending financial support. The patients further expressed how the healthcare sector has improved tremendously and how their cries for help haven’t gone unheard.
The SKM release also mentioned how CM never fails to meet the Sikkimese patients whenever he visits Delhi.
