It is learned that during the recent visit of our Chief Minister to Delhi, a proposal to set up a National Yoga and Meditation Institute at Gurudongmar, North Sikkim was put forward by our CM, which is rather astounding.
First, it was the Sikhs who claimed their legitimacy over the area, and now this. All the prime locations of our state are being given away to outsiders and now our sacred Gurudongmar…. This is unacceptable, and I am sure all our northerners and specially Buddhist won’t accept it either…. The area is sacred to us and tampering with it hits straight to our hearts, or is Mr. Golay trying to do away with Sikkim’s rich culture and tradition which was secured by our forefathers and passed down upon us….
CM sir, for the sake of our bygone generations who toiled so hard to keep it sacred and for the posterity, please don’t go ahead with this proposal as it hurts our sentiments to the core….
