The area of operation under the 72nd Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Yuksam, experienced heavy snowfall with the onset of the New Year, bringing much of the high-altitude border region under a thick blanket of snow.

The snowfall, which began on Saturday, has significantly lowered temperatures and affected movement in several forward and border outposts. Despite the harsh weather conditions and challenging terrain, jawans of the 72nd Bn SSB remain fully deployed and vigilant, continuing their duties to maintain peace and security along the border areas.

Sources from the battalion stated that all necessary precautionary measures have been put in place to deal with the situation arising out of the snowfall. The personnel are well-equipped and prepared to respond to any emergencies, ensuring that operational readiness is maintained at all times.

The battalion has also been closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety and well-being of people living in nearby areas, while maintaining uninterrupted border surveillance. Essential supplies and logistics are being managed to ensure smooth functioning despite weather-related challenges.

Reaffirming its commitment, the 72nd Bn SSB stated that it remains steadfast in its duty of safeguarding the nation’s borders and ensuring the security of the region, regardless of adverse weather conditions.
