SDF on Friday, May 27 observed “Dhoka Diwas” as an act of mockery and an act of protest against the current SKM government. The day marks SKM’s 3 year anniversary of their formation of the government.
SDF made an official statement deeming the day as their “Dhoka Diwas”.
The statement reads, “The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) made promises to the Sikkimese people during the Assembly elections, but these promises have not been fulfilled even three years after the formation of the government today. This proves that the SKM party swore falsely in front of the people during the election. The SKM party’s manifesto has also proved to be a book of lies in the political history of Sikkim.
After forming the government, the SKM party has been working against those promises made to the people. The government is engaged in a campaign to destroy the natural, cultural, traditional, economic and social resources of the state by protecting the rights, security, existence and dignity of the people of Sikkim and Sikkimese.
Laws as the the One Nation One Ration Card, the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the National Citizen Registration (NRC), and the Central Motor Vehicle Law, have been expanded in the state to soften the old laws of Sikkim one after another.
The SKM party has promised reservation of Limbu-Tamang seats in the assembly, bringing Parampavan Karmapa to Sikkim, making the missing community a tribe, giving allowances to unemployed youth, giving jobs to 30,000, making temporary workers permanent, giving one hundred thousand rupees annual financial assistance to mothers. The people of Sikkimese have been deceived on many issues such as giving fifty thousand rupees and paying the workers twenty thousand rupees.
Sikkim’s traditionally acquired land within and outside the state is being sold to outside capitalists. Sikkim’s infrastructure such as hospitals, taxi stents are being sold to such capitalists in the name of public-private partnership. The people have been witnessing that the SKM government has destroyed the forests of the state. Sand and gravel are also being smuggled in the canals.
The SKM government has been institutionalising corruption in the state, of which the MCX scam, tax evasion, etc. are vivid examples. The SKM government has been in power for three years, disrupting the peace process in the state and creating an atmosphere of fear and terror among the people. The main achievements of the SKM government are stoning the people, insulting them, harassing the opposition parties and leaders, and carrying out deadly attacks. The government is spreading institutional crime by encouraging various criminal activities like murder, violence, rape, robbery, drug smuggling etc. in the state. This is a major achievement of the SKM government for three years.
Therefore, the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) declares May 27, SKM Party Government Establishment Day as “Dhoka Diwas.” State-wide Betrayal Day (Dhoka Diwas) will be observed to make the people aware about the betrayal and anti-people activities of SKM party in the state.”

सिक्किम क्रान्तिकारी मोर्चा(एसकेएम)-ले विधानसभा चुनाउको समयमा सिक्किमेली जनतालाई जेजस्ता वाचा गरेका थिए, ती वाचाहरू आज सरकार गठन भएको तीन वर्ष बितिसक्दा पनि पुरा भएका छैनन्। यसले चुनाउका समय एसकेएम पार्टीले जनतासामू झूटा कसम खाएको सिद्ध हुन्छ। एसकेएम पार्टीको घोषणा पत्र पनि सिक्किमकै राजनीतिक इतिहासमा झूटको पुस्तक प्रमाणित भएको छ।
सरकार बनाएपछि एसकेएम पार्टीले जनतासँग गरेका घोषणा र वाचाहरूका विपरीत काम गरिरहेको छ। सिक्किम र सिक्किमेली जनताका हक, अधिकार, सुरक्षा, अस्तित्व र अस्मितालाई ताकमा राखेर राज्यको प्राकृतिक, सांस्कृतिक, पारम्परिक, आर्थिक, सामाजिक संसाधनलाई ध्वस्त बनाउने अभियानमा सरकार जुटेको सबैलाई विधित छ।
एक राष्ट्र एक राशन कार्ड, नागरिकता संशोधन अधिनियम (सीएए), राष्ट्रिय नागरिक पञ्जीकरण (एनआरसी), केन्द्रिय मोटर भेकल कानुनजस्ता सिक्किमको विशिष्ट चिन्हारीलाई ध्वस्त बनाउने केन्द्रीय कानुनहरू राज्यमा विस्तार गरेर सिक्किमका पुराना कानुनहरूलाई एकपछि अर्को गर्दै तरलीकरण गर्ने काम भएको छ।
एसकेएम पार्टीले विधानसभामा लिम्बू-तामाङको सिट आरक्षण, परमपावन कर्मापालाई सिक्किम ल्याउने, छुटेका समुदायलाई जनजाति बनाउने, बेरोजगार युवाहरूलाई भत्ता दिने, तीस हजारलाई नोकरी दिने, अस्थायी कर्मचारीलाई स्थायी गर्ने, आमाहरूलाई एकलाख रूपियाँको वार्षिक आर्थिक सहयोग दिने, किशानहरूलाई अदुवा-अलैँचीको दाम पाँच हजार र पचास हजार दिने, मजदुरहरूको वेतन बीस हजार गर्नेजस्ता अनेकौँ मुद्दामा सिक्किमेली जनतालाई धोका दिएको छ।
राज्य भित्र र राज्य बाहिराका सिक्किमले परम्परादेखि अर्जेका जगा-जमीन बाहिराका पुञ्जीपतिहरूलाई बेच्ने काम भइरहेको छ। यस्ता पुञ्जीपतिहरूलाई सिक्किमका पूर्वाधारहरू जस्तै अस्पताल, ट्यक्सी स्टेण्टहरू पब्लिक प्राइभेट पार्टनरसीप-को नाममा धमाधम विक्री गरिँदैछ। एसकेएम सरकारले राज्यका वन-जंगललाई विनाश गरेको जनताले देखि रहेका छन्। खोलानालामा गिटी-बलुवासमेत तस्करी गरिँदैछ।
राज्यमा भ्रष्टाचारलाई एसकेएम सरकारले संस्थागत गर्दै गएको छ, जसको ज्वलन्त उदाहरण एमसीएक्स घोटाला, कर चोरी आदि हुन्। एसकेएम सरकारले राज्यको शान्ति श्रृङ्खलालाई खलल पुऱ्याउँदै सर्वसाधारण जनतामा भय र त्रासको वातावरण सिर्जना गर्दै तीनवर्षदेखि सत्ता हाँकिरहेको छ। जनतामाथि ढुङ्गा-मूढा गर्नु, गाली गर्नु, विपक्षी दल र नेतालाई तगारो हाल्नु, प्राणघातक आक्रमण गर्नु एसकेएम सरकारका प्रमुख उलब्धीहरू हुन्। राज्यमा हत्या, हिंसा, बलात्कार, चोरी-डकैती, ड्रग्सखोरी आदि अनेकौँ आपराधिक क्रियाकलापलाई सरकारले प्रोत्साहन गरेर संस्थागत अपराधलाई मलजल गरिरहेको छ। यो एसकेएम सरकारको तीन वर्षको प्रमुख उपलब्धी हो।
अतः एसकेएम पार्टीको सरकार स्थापना दिवस 27 मईलाई सिक्किम डेमोक्रेटिक फ्रण्ट (एसडीएफ) धोका दिवस घोषणा गर्दछ। राज्यमा एसकेएम पार्टीको धोका अनि जनविरोधी क्रियाकलापबारे जनतालाई सचेत गर्न राज्यव्यापी रूपमा धोका दिवस पालन गरिनेछ।
