I stand in solidarity with fellow Sikkimese against the idea of Darjeeling Sikkim Merger theory raised by Gorkha Rashtriya Congress. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my gratitude to Bharatiya Janta Party for being the first political party to condemn the demand of Sikkim Darjeeling merger after GRC submitted its resolution to the Governor of West Bengal. I would also like to thank ruling SKM Government for strongly standing for the common interest of Sikkimese people. It is heartening to see that people across party lines have unitedly stood for a common cause. May this unity continue in every issue concerning Sikkim and its people.
The demand of merger is outrightly rejected by the people of Sikkim, as it is neither constitutional nor justifiable. Such propaganda can lead to social and political instability in a very sensitive state bordering three countries and most importantly China, which can be a threat to the nation. Therefore, such act can be termed Anti-national.
