Hamro Sikkim Party extends support to SDF rally during the Sikkim Bachao Abhiyaan at Yangyang. During the rally, the SDF participants were seen wearing helmet. HSP claims that there have been several attacks on the opposition party workers, and the lack of action by the authorities has emboldened the perpetrators of violence. The party calls upon the government to take swift action to bring the culprits to justice and ensure that such incidents of violence do not occur in the future. “We, the Hamro Sikkim Party, stand in solidarity with the Sikkim Democratic Front’s symbolic Helmet Rally against the increasing violence in Sikkim. It is unfortunate that in recent times, there have been several attacks on the opposition party workers, which is a direct attack on democracy.”

HSP further claimed that, ‘lack of action by the authorities has emboldened the perpetrators of violence’ the party says, “Despite having CCTV footage and video evidence of these attacks, it is concerning that the police have not been able to make any arrests. This lack of action by the authorities has emboldened the perpetrators of violence, and it is high time that the government takes strict action against such elements.”

“We commend the Sikkim Democratic Front for taking a stand against violence and urge all political parties and citizens of Sikkim to come together to protect democracy and uphold the rule of law. We believe that the symbolic Helmet Rally is a powerful message of unity and resilience in the face of violence.” Added the statement.

In addition, the party calls upon the government to take swift action to bring the culprits to justice and ensure that such incidents of violence do not occur in the future “As a party committed to the welfare of Sikkim and its people, we call upon the government to ensure that such incidents of violence do not occur in the future. We urge the authorities to take swift action and bring the culprits to justice.”
