63-year-old arrested for sexually molesting a 9-year-old girl in Soreng District under Sections 10 and 9(m) of the POCSO Act, 2012.

As per the police report, a 9-year-old  girl from Soreng District was sexually molested by a 63-year-old man from the same district.

The police report stated, “During counseling, it was revealed that on November 4, the minor victim along with her parents went to the house of the accused located in Soreng District, wherein her parents started talking with the wife of the accused person in their kitchen room, and the minor girl went to watch TV in another room where the accused person was alone.”

A further police report stated, “The accused person sexually molested her by touching her body and sucking on the upper part of her breast while removing her clothes. She then ran away towards her parents’ kitchen room, but she did not disclose anything to her parents about it.”

The next day, on November 5, the minor victim told her cousin’s sister about the incident, and her cousin then informed the minor victim’s parents. A written FIR was filed by Counselor of Child Welfare Committee, Gyalshing, on November 7.
