Voting Phase 4 ; 96 PCs & State Assembly of Andhra Pradesh to go on polls on May 13

As voting for the General Elections 2024 continue, a total of 96 Parliamentary Constituencies across 10 states and Union Territories are set to go on polls on Monday during the fourth phase of voting.

Along with the Parliamentary Constituencies, the State Assembly of Andhra Pradesh will also go on polls the same day for all of it’s 175 Assembly Constituencies.

YSRCP had swept the 2019 Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh by winning 151 seats led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy while the then CM N Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP could only manage to secure 22 seats. Janasena secured one seat in the State Assembly of 175 seats.

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), along with the ACs all 25 Parliamentary seats from Andhra Pradesh is also set to go on polls the same day with 454 candidates contesting this election.

A total of 5 PCs from Bihar will go on polls during voting phase 4, with 55 candidates contesting. 1 PC from Jammu & Kashmir with 24 contesting candidates, 4 PCs from Jharkhand with 45 candidates contesting, 8 PCs from Madhya Pradesh with 74 candidates contesting, 11 PCs from Maharashtra with 298 contesting candidates, 4 PCs from Odisha with 37 candidates contesting, 17 PCs from Telengana with 525 candidates contesting, 13 PCs from Uttar Pradesh with 130 contesting candidates and 8 PCs from West Bengal with 75 contesting candidates will go on polls during the fourth phase of voting.

According to the ECI, a total 4264 nominations were filed for these 96 Parliamentary Constituencies out of which after scrutiny and withdrawals, 1717 candidates are contesting.

For the Phase 4 of voting, the state of Telangana witnessed maximum nominations of 1488 for 17 PCs, followed by the state of Andhra Pradesh with 1103 nominations for it’s 25 PCs.

During the first phase of voting, 102 PCs had gone to polls on April 19, 89 PCs during the second phase on April 26 and 94 PCs during the third phase on May 7.

A total of 49 PCs will vote during fifth phase on May 20, 57 PCs during sixth phase on May 23 and 57 PCs during the last phase on June 1.

The counting of Parliamentary Constituency votes is set on June 4, 2024.

The counting of votes for state Assemblies of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh is set on June 2, 2024.
