State officials inspects road repair work between Ranipool and Pakyong Airport

A joint inspection of the road repair work from Ranipool to Pakyong Airport was conducted by the Secretary, Home Department Tashi Cho Cho along with officials from concerned line of departments today.

The inspection was jointly conducted by Pakyong, District Collector, Tashi Chopel, Secretary Urban Development Department, Shri M T Sherpa, Chief Engineer, Urban Development Department, Shri Sailendra Sharma, Chief Engineer, Roads and Bridges Department Shri Basant K. Tamang, Officials from NHIDCL and executives from the concerned line of departments.

The inspection primarily involved a recce to examine both the work in progress and the work that has already been completed. The main focus of the discussion was on the upkeep of the Gangtok- Pakyong road, including maintenance work as well as the preservation of the road’s beautification including sidewalks.

The officials provided recommendations regarding the work in progress, some among them are:

•Clearing of the debris accumulated on the road side to facilitate proper drainage.

•Channelising the water source to avoid water clogging.

•Applying whitewash to areas for beautification.

•Maintaining the beauty of the roadside.

The team also visited Pakyong Airport to monitor the progress of the work assigned.
