Sikkim: Mobile ATM van launched by SISCO Bank: Aims to cater customers far from the bank

Gangtok: September 24: Flag off of Demo van cum mobile atm launched by Sikkim State Co-operative Bank Limited (SISCO) with support of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural  Development(NABARD) at the capital today. 

Dup Pintso Kaleon Chairman of Sikkim State Cooperative Bank Limited flagged off the Mobile ATM. 

According to SISCO bank “The purpose of this mobile van is to cater to the distance between customers and the bank”. As informed by SISCO the mobile ATM  will reach out to the customers rather than customers coming to the far of ATM.

Addressing the gathering Dup Pintso Kaloen Chairman mentioned that  this  mobile ATM is Sikkim’s first mobile van fixed with ATM.

“This mobile also plays a vital role in financial inclusion since there are many unbank villages in Sikkim, meaning there are many people who are yet to get banking facilities.” Added Kaloen. 

Furthermore, Chairman Kaleon mentioned that, “This is one way to cater to their financial needs. Financial literacy is very less among the people so to promote that the bank wants to teach people of rural areas to start with female family members. This is a pilot project and this will be taken forward next in the pipeline will be is to open an account.  This program was the vision of the Chief Minister.” 

The Managing Director of SISCO presented the  overall data on the aims and objectives of the bank followed by the Chairman’s speech where he presented the annual financial budget of the bank for the year 2021.

Furthermore, the Bank announced its top three MPCs for good performance for the previous year 2020-21 and gave Luing Perbing MPCs fifty thousand rupees with a felicitation as the first prize followed by Rakdong Tintek MPCs forty thousand as the second place and Ravang Sangmo MPCs thirty thousand.
