Gangtok, January 8:

The Government of Sikkim has directed all Departments to expedite the pending process of regularisation of eligible temporary employees under Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ categories, as per existing government policy.

According to a circular issued by the Department of Personnel, Government of Sikkim, the State Government had earlier taken a policy decision to regularise the services of temporary employees working on Work Charged, Muster Roll, Adhoc and Consolidated Pay basis, who have completed four years of continuous service as on 31st December of the relevant calendar year.

The circular states that cases of temporary employees who had completed four years of service as on 31st December 2023 were taken up for regularisation in the first phase. However, despite the lapse of nearly two years, the first phase of the regularisation process remains incomplete.

In view of this delay, the Department of Personnel has now directed all Secretaries and Heads of Departments to submit all pending proposals related to the regularisation of eligible temporary employees falling under the first phase. These proposals must be submitted on or before 31st January 2026 to enable the Department to process and consider regularisation.

The directive will also facilitate the consideration of regularisation for temporary employees who have completed four years of service as on 31st December 2024, in accordance with the government policy.

The circular has been issued by order of the Government of Sikkim and signed by Shri Rinzing Chewang Bhutia, IAS, Secretary to the Government of Sikkim. Copies of the order have been forwarded to all Secretaries and Heads of Departments, the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, and the Staff Officer to the Chief Secretary for necessary action.
