Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang conducted an inspection of the ongoing construction of the Sikkim State Library near the MLA Hostel earlier this morning. The ambitious project is envisioned as a state-of-the-art facility that will house an Art Gallery, Digital Library, Physical Library, an Atma Nirbhar Research Centre, and the Institute of Transforming Sikkim.
During the site visit, CM Tamang reviewed the progress of the work and issued clear instructions to officials from the Buildings and Housing Department to expedite the construction process and ensure its timely completion.
Once completed, the facility is expected to serve as a key hub for intellectual, educational, and cultural development in the state, said the CM Tamang
“It will offer valuable resources and opportunities for students, researchers, and the wider community”, he added.
Furthermore, Chief Minister expressed confidence that the project would be a major step forward in achieving knowledge, innovation, and self-reliance in Sikkim.
