Road from St Xaviers School Pakyong to Bhanu Turning, Airport Road, to remain closed from May 11 – 20

Office of the Sr. Superintendent of Police, Pakyong District, on Thursday has issued a notice restricting movements of all types of vehicles along road stretch from St. Xaviers School Pakyong to Bhanu Turning, Airport Road, Pakyong.

Owing to the geometric improvement of aforementioned road stretch by NHIDCL, PMU – Ranipool, the restriction will come to force from 8 pm of May 11 to 6 am of May 20, 2024.

An advisory for alternative routes has also been issued for the commuters travelling along the Pakyong-Rorathang Highway.

  1. Pakyong Highway – Tokchi Fatak (Near St. Xavier School) – Upper Samsing – Pachey Road – Pakyong Bazar Traffic Point and Vice Versa.
  2. Andheri Fatak – Basilakha Road – Rai Gaon – Pakyong Thana Fatak and vice versa.

“Whereas the Office of the undersigned being informed by the authorities of NHIDCL, PMU – Ranipool regarding geometric improvement of road stretch from St Xaviers School, Pakyong to Bhanu Turning, Airport Road, Pakyong and the construction activities to commence from 11/05/2024”, read the order for regulation and diversion of traffic movement by Office of the Sr. Superintendent of Police, Pakyong District.

“Therefore, in order to facilitate the smooth flow of work, the undersigned in exercise of power conferred upon under section 159(2) of the “The Sikkim Police Act, 2008″ restricts the movement of all types of vehicles from 11th May, 2024 to 20th May, 2024 Timing : 2000 Hrs (8PM) to 0600 Hrs (6AM) along the aforementioned stretch”, read the notification.
