Determination, discipline, and an unwavering love for football continue to define the efforts of Titus Sewa (29), fondly known in the locality as “Dalle Bau ko Chora.” For the third consecutive year—and the fourth time overall— Titus has once again dedicated his winter vacation to coaching children at the Ranipool School Ground, reaffirming his commitment to grassroots football development.

A resident of Ranipool, Titus balances this responsibility alongside his night-shift job at Macleods Pharmaceuticals, Aho, Yangthang. Despite the physically demanding schedule, he ensures that children are brought to the ground early each morning, trained in proper football techniques, and safely escorted back home.

Speaking about his motivation, Titus said, “Football gave me discipline and direction in life. If I can pass even a small part of that to these children, I feel my effort is worthwhile.”

In an era where parents increasingly struggle to limit children’s screen time, Titus’s initiative stands out as a meaningful alternative. By encouraging children to wake up early, play football, and stay active, he is helping instill healthy habits from a young age.

Highlighting the importance of outdoor activity, he added, “Children today spend too much time on mobile phones. If they come to the ground, they learn teamwork, respect, and physical fitness. Football keeps them active and focused.”

Despite juggling work and coaching responsibilities, Titus remains humble about his role. “I don’t expect anything in return,” he said. “If the children smile, improve their game, and stay healthy, that is enough motivation for me.”

The initiative has received positive response from parents and local residents, who have lauded his selfless dedication. His efforts go beyond sports coaching, helping nurture discipline, confidence, and camaraderie among the children.

Parents and guardians have been urged to send their children to the ground during the winter vacation to help them remain active and healthy. Members of the public have also been encouraged to support and motivate Titus, as even words of appreciation or small gestures of help can help sustain such grassroots efforts.

The winter coaching programme is being conducted under the TFA Management Team, comprising:
• Titus Sewa (29) – Coach
• Prakash Adhikari – Assistant Coach
• Santosh Mukhea – Assistant Coach
• Bhupendra Khanal – Advisor

As young players train each morning at the Ranipool School Ground, Titus Sewa’s dedication continues to inspire, proving that passion, perseverance, and community spirit can create a lasting impact at the grassroots level.
