President of the Citizen Action Party–Sikkim (CAP–S), Ganesh K Rai, extended heartfelt New Year 2026 greetings to the people of Sikkim, calling upon all sections of society to move forward with confidence, unity, and an unshakable belief in themselves.
In his New Year message, Rai expressed hope that 2026 would be a year of success, courage, and meaningful progress, free from fear and uncertainty. He underlined the importance of collective effort in strengthening social harmony and building a resilient future for the state.
Paying deep respect to senior citizens, Rai acknowledged their sacrifices, wisdom, and life experiences, stating that their guidance continues to shape the values and direction of society. He also lauded farmers as the true custodians of land and food security, and appreciated the traders and business community for sustaining livelihoods and strengthening Sikkim’s self-reliance.
The CAP–S president extended warm wishes to government and private sector employees, as well as retired personnel, recognising their years of dedicated service to the state and the nation. He paid sincere tribute to doctors, nurses, paramedics, ASHA workers, and all healthcare professionals, praising their selfless service and sacrifices in safeguarding public health, especially during times of crisis.
Rai also acknowledged the role of teachers, whom he described as the architects of future generations, and saluted the police personnel, home guards, and security forces for maintaining peace, law, and order with courage and commitment.
Expressing appreciation for drivers, transport workers, safaikarmacharis, peons, daily wage earners, and other essential service workers, he emphasised the dignity of labour and called for respect for every form of work that keeps society functioning daily.
Highlighting the importance of a healthy democracy, Rai recognised the contribution of the press and media fraternity, stressing that a free, fearless, and responsible media is vital for transparency and accountability. He also commended party workers, volunteers, grassroots leaders, and social activists for their selfless service in keeping democracy alive.
Addressing the youth of Sikkim, Rai urged them to stay away from drugs and substance abuse, and to embrace hard work, discipline, patience, and integrity. He encouraged young people to excel in their chosen fields and contribute meaningfully to nation-building. He also extended special wishes to the women of Sikkim, describing them as the pillars of families, communities, and the economy, and expressed hope that 2026 would bring them greater opportunities, safety, dignity, and recognition.
Reaffirming the commitment of the Citizen Action Party–Sikkim, Rai stated that the party would continue to work relentlessly for the welfare, rights, and dignity of the people. He asserted that CAP–S would stand firmly with the people in times of hope as well as hardship, with an unwavering commitment to clean governance, transparency, accountability, and people-first politics.
In his message to the nation, Rai noted that 2026 marks the completion of the first quarter of the 21st century. As India moves closer to 100 years of Independence, he called for unity, ethical leadership, innovation, and active citizenship to build an inclusive, self-reliant, compassionate, and just nation.
