Mangan, August 25: The Toong-Naga stretch of the Mangan-Chungthang highway has been closed for all traffic after the road was found sinking at several locations, accompanied by multiple landslides.

The road, which was recently opened for light vehicles, has been declared unsafe for travel. In an official communication, Officer Commanding of 107 RCC, GREF, Maj. R. L. Tewatia stated, “During the last two weeks, the road axis has been found to be sinking at numerous locations and multiple slides have taken place. In view of the above facts, the road is not safe for travel and has been closed for all traffic till further notice.”
Authorities have requested the District Administration to issue necessary directions and have informed the general public about the closure.
