Medhavi Group celebrates 13 years of transformative impact in skilling and education

The Medhavi Group celebrated its 13th Foundation Day today with great pride and fervor at Manan Kendra in Gangtok, Sikkim. The occasion marked over a decade of committed work towards making education accessible, industry-linked, and outcome-driven for India’s youth — particularly those from underserved communities.

Rooted in the philosophy that “Skills are the currency of the future,” the group began as a grassroots movement to address the widening gap between education and employability with the inception of Medhavi Foundation in 2012. Over time, this vision has evolved into a national mission — empowering thousands of young people across states through skill development, job-oriented programs, and innovative education pathways.

The celebrations commenced with a warm welcome to guests, followed by a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and the national anthem. In his keynote address Mr. Pravesh Dudani, Founder & Chancellor of Medhavi Skills University and Founder & Managing Director of Medhavi Foundation said- “What began as an experiment in hope has become a movement for transformation. Thirteen years ago, we set out to make learning relevant to life and livelihood. Today, our students graduate not just with a degree, but with a job, confidence, and purpose”.

“With the establishment of Medhavi Skills University in 2021, the group’s mission found a new dimension. MSU, India’s first university to institutionalize Work-Integrated Education, is now a beacon of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 vision — where flexibility, skill development, and real-world application converge. This is just the start, we will go places and we will make it as a nationally acclaimed university that is known for its quality education and training”, he added.

Mr. Kuldip Sarma, Co-Founder & Pro-Chancellor of MSU and Co-Founder & MD of Medhavi Foundation, in his address, reflected on the collaborative strength of the Medhavi ecosystem: “The seed that we had planted 13 years ago with the vision of empowering India through skill based education has become a full fledged tree. Today, the name of Medhavi has spread far and wide across India The strength of Medhavi lies in its synergy — between communities, industries, and learners. Our vision is not just to educate but to empower and uplift, especially in regions where opportunities are scarce.”

The event came alive with vibrant cultural performances by MSU students, celebrating the rich and diverse heritage of India’s Northeast. Highlights included a soulful group song by the Culture Club and Music Skill Drill, captivating traditional dance performances from the Nepali, Arunachali, and Rai communities, and a heartfelt Lepcha song by student Samdup Lepcha.

Shri Devender K. Saini, Group Chief Strategy Officer, addressed the audience with his encouraging words, reaffirming Medhavi group’s commitment to building not just an education system, but a future where every young Indian has the skills, opportunity, and dignity to thrive.
