ICFAI LAW SCHOOL HOSTS THREE-DAY WORKSHOP FOR INDIAN FOREST SERVICE OFFICERS ON SAFE WORKPLACES

Gangtok, Sikkim – Under the esteemed patronage of ICFAI Law School, IFHE, Hyderabad, a Three-Day Workshop for Indian Forest Service Officers on “Safe Workplaces- Fundamental Understanding of POSH Act, Gender Sensitization, Legal Framework, Policies and Process” was officially inaugurated today in the picturesque city of Gangtok. The conference is scheduled to take place from the 6th to the 8th of May, 2024.


The event kickstarted with an enlightening inaugural ceremony, graced by the presence of Dr. Jagannath Patnaik, Vice Chancellor of ICFAI University Sikkim, who delivered an insightful address on workplace harassment. Dr. AVN Narsimha Rao, Director of ICFAI Law School, IFHE, Hederabad shed light on the importance of understanding and combatting workplace harassment, while Prof. Rohit Rathi, Registrar of ICFAI University Sikkim, extended a gracious vote of thanks to all attendees.


The event saw the attendance of esteemed faculty members, including Prof. Pritam Subba, Prof. Soni Subedi, and Dr. Numa Limbu from ICFAI University Sikkim and Prof. Rek Raj Jain, Dr. Veena & Prof. Anwesha Panigrahi from IFHE, Hyderabad who are the experts in the field of law and gender sensitivity. More than 20 Indian Forest Service Officers from various states across the country are participating in this crucial seminar.


The workshop aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, gender sensitization, the legal framework surrounding workplace harassment, as well as the necessary policies and processes that need to be implemented to ensure safe working environments for all individuals.


In addition to the esteemed faculty members from ICFAI University Sikkim, experts specializing in the domain from IFHE, Hyderabad, will be conducting technical sessions throughout the duration of the workshop. These sessions will delve into key topics related to creating safe workplaces, fostering a culture of respect and equality, and imparting practical strategies for addressing and preventing workplace harassment.


The workshop holds immense significance in today’s context, where creating safe and inclusive work environments is paramount for ensuring the well-being and productivity of employees. By equipping Indian Forest Service Officers with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate and address workplace harassment effectively, ICFAI Law School and IFHE are taking a proactive stance in promoting a culture of mutual respect, dignity, and gender equality in the workplace.


As the workshop progresses, participants can look forward to engaging discussions, interactive sessions, and practical insights that will empower them to champion safe workplaces within their respective spheres of influence. By fostering a deeper understanding of the legal and ethical dimensions of workplace harassment, the workshop aims to pave the way for a more equitable and harmonious work environment for all individuals.
