Singer Remanti Rai, one of the key members of the team that campaigned for Prashant Tamang during Indian Idol Season 3, expressed profound shock and grief over the tragic news.

“I am completely shocked at this moment. I am not even able to write anything on social platforms. I don’t know where to start or what to write.”

Recalling her early inspiration, she said Prashant Tamang’s journey left a deep and lasting impact on an entire generation of aspiring artists from the hills.

“I was very young when I saw Prashant Tamang on such a big national platform. It was the dream of every budding artist like me to stand on a stage like that. When I saw him there, it wasn’t just his dream—I felt it was the dream of every artist from the hills. It was the first time I ever wrote and composed a song, which later became ‘Ama Timro Anautho Shristi Pyaro Prashant… Hamro Prashant, Incredible Prashant.’

Even now, I am unable to understand what has actually happened. I am speechless.”

Her song “Ama Timro” went on to play a powerful role in Prashant Tamang’s journey, becoming an emotional anthem that resonated widely during the campaign.

Reflecting on his legacy, Remanti Rai said Prashant Tamang paved the way for countless young talents from the hills.

“I truly believe it was only Prashant Tamang who showed the path to aspiring singers from the hills to participate in reality shows. His simplicity and gentle smile were his greatest strengths, winning hearts everywhere. His contribution was immense—he remained a silent gateway in introducing the hills to the mainstream. Gone too soon, but he will always remain in the hearts of everyone.”
