Four footballers shortlisted for training under Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC)

Prabhat Rai, Ishan Mazi, Soham Rai & Dipankar Chhetri on Thursday has left enroute to Bagdogra-Mumbai to join Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) coaching centre at Mumbai.

These young lads has been shortlisted from the trial undertaken at Bhaichung Stadium, Namchi on 18th Dec 2023 and at TNA Ground, Gangtok on 19th Dec 2023 by Reliance’s Head of Scout Stephen Charles and their Regional Scout Rohan Raj Pradhan with the volunteer coaches viz. Gyalon Lepcha, Kesang Bhutia, Sovnir Pradhan.

The shortlisted players will get boarding & lodge with full stipend to undergo the football coaching under international coaches as well as for their schooling. RFYC this year has shortlisted 54 such young budding footballers from Pan India basis to undergo the advance coaching.

Menla Ethenpa, President, Sikkim Football Association earlier interacted with the boys and their parents and explained to them how lucky they are that they have been shortlisted for the country’s top football coaching centre under Reliance Foundation and advised them to undergo the training seriously. He further informed that upon successful completion there is a provision to send the players to Brazil / Europe for further advance coaching.

Phurba Sherpa, Gen. Secy., SFA thanked RFYC Head Scout Mr. Charles and Mr. Rohan Pradhan & party undertaking the trial in Sikkim.
