Namchi, 26 August: The first official meeting on establishing an Integrated Modern Technology Dairy Farm project was held at the conference hall of Temi Tea Estate in collaboration with a multi purpose cooperative society, Central Pandam, Pakyong district.
The meeting was graced by the Hon’ble Chairman, Temi Tea Board of Sikkim Shri RK Rai (Waling), followed by Hon’ble Chairman, Science and Technology Department, Shri NT Bhutia, Managing Director of Temi Tea Estate Smt. Radha Pradhan, Block Development Officer, Temi Block Administrative Centre Shri Roshan Rai, President of MPCS, Shri Sudip Pradhan, Vice Chairman of Sikkim Milk Union, Shri CP Bhattrai, Hon’ble Zilla Panchayat Temi Block Shri Durga Psd. Sharma (Bikash), Hon’ble Panchayat President and panchayat members of 10th Temi GPU, registered suppliers of Temi Tea Estate, stakeholders, and staff members of Temi Tea Estate.
The meeting was briefed about the benefits of establishing an Integrated Modern Technology Dairy Farm and began with the welcome address by the Managing Director of Temi Tea Estate. The project aims to transform dairy production through smart technologies, automation, and sustainable practices.
During the meeting, Shri Sudip Pradhan, President of MPCS of Central Pandam, addressed the gathering by sharing his vision, aims, and objectives of the modern technology dairy farm. He said that the project is aiming to provide livelihood to the local public of Temi block and surroundings. He shared his successful experiences in this field and encouraged the gathering to take positive steps toward the project.
The meeting focused on creating a fully integrated system — from precision feeding and automated milking to eco-friendly waste management and milk processing. He added that a technical team will now begin feasibility studies and prepare a detailed implementation roadmap with a comprehensive document outlining the project’s objectives, scope, technical specifications, financial viability, and implementation plan with the total project cost, which shall be announced in the next meeting.
Shri C.P Bhattrai, Vice Chairman of Sikkim Milk Union, also shared his successful journey as an entrepreneur and farmer, stating how his village “Kamerey” has been declared as a model village in multiple sectors.
To facilitate the project, a dedicated committee has also been formed to identify and acquire suitable land for the farm’s establishment.

The meeting concluded with a unanimous commitment to advancing this transformative project. The next planning session is scheduled in the coming days, where the initial feasibility findings will be reviewed and further strategies finalized.
