On June 19, 2021, inaugural function of Reflection 1.0- Alumni’s Reminiscence was conducted by Department of Computer Science & Technology(DCST) on virtual platform where alumni members joined them through Google meet. It is an initiative taken up by the one of the department of Centre for Computer and Communication Technology (CCCT), Chisopani, South Sikkim. The program offered by the department consisted of a series of pep talks by the alumni and it was inaugurated in the virtual presence of Principal, Faculty members and Students of the Institute. The objective of the said program is to build strong affection, collaboration and more precisely never ending togetherness among EX-CCCT student, present student, faculty member and the entire CCCT fraternity.

This event was beautifully coordinated by Mr Bijoy Chhetri, senior faculty of the department, which was attended by the existing students of the department along with the entire faculty and Mr. Praveen Kumar Pradhan, OSD, Education Department, Govt. of Sikkim as the special guest.  Mr Pragesh Pradhan, final year student successfully hosted the said event of Reflection 1.0.  It started with a formal welcome address by the coordinator where he mentioned that the program has series of talks in the forthcoming days where Alumni of the department who has been working across the world will be given a slot to address their junior batches virtually. The talk series will start from 26th of this month and lasts till 31st of July covering all Saturdays and Sundays.  In the program, HoD of the department also highlighted the activities, achievements and brief about the department. The meeting was then moderated by the coordinator where alumni(s) were asked to present their feeling, life experiences and nostalgia about their alma mater.  Being the oldest course among all courses that is being offered by CCCT since 2000, the department had about 60 odd members of alumni in the meeting and the session was very interesting and brought back many more memories of college life. Many of the interested alumni couldn’t join due to various reasons. Various constructive suggestions and comments were raised by the alumni, which will be taken into consideration in near future for the improvement & growth of the department. Latest technologies, programming & automation, holistic development, civil service, abroad placements and various other points were raised and discussed. Dr. B B Pradhan, Principal, couldn’t connect to the meet due to poor network connection; however, over the voice call, he congratulated the department and also wished the students for their better progress in career and professional growth.  At last, special guest along with Vice Principal of CCCT, Mr. Anup Sarmah addressed the meeting and encouraged the department to carry forward such events and also urged the alumni to be part of it at least once in a year and thanked them all.  Miss Prerna Rai, senior faculty, presented her vote of thanks in the end. The entire even was streamed live on YouTube for the viewers outside the virtual meet.

“Nobody is bothered about an institution more than its alumni” said Dr Narayana Murthy, Founder of Infosys , indeed, any institutions growth and prosperity depends on the Alumni who have been power packed by attaining global experiences.  So, in this occasion of Reflection1.0, we will be hearing from Alumni in the coming sessions which will be streamed live on social media handles including YouTube starting from 26th June 2021. SO BE THERE EVERY SATURDAY & SUNDAY TO WITNESS THE FIRST OF ITS KIND PROGRAM.
