8 year old minor inappropriately touched near school premises; case registered under POCSO Act

In another tragic case of abuse against minors of sexual in nature, an 8 year old minor girl was inappropriately touched by a yet unidentified person. According to the situation reports obtained from the police, the person lured her to jungle nearby her school and inappropriately touched her.

The report said, “A written FIR was received from (name an address undisclosed), Gangtok mentioning one minor girl, 8 yrs., Gangtok reading in class 1 (school undisclosed), who has been staying with her at Gangtok.”

“Further she has outlined in the FIR on 21/11/2022 at around 1940 hrs, she received a call from the school mentioning the said minor child was touched inappropriately by the person who was identified by her and narrated that the said alleged person took her to the jungle near the school and lifted her skirt, touched her private part with his hand from outside her panties.”

“Furthermore, she was questioned about not telling the incident but was unable to remember the exact date. Thus, the complainant appeared at P.S and lodged an FIR to take necessary action against the alleged culprit(s).”
