59 years old man booked under atrocities act for passing caste remark at East Sikkim

An FIR was registered at Ranipool Police Station on November 25  at around 4 PM in the evening stating that,” while her mother  and niece were on their way home, the alleged accused started abusing the duo and passed casteist remarks “Timi Kami haru agi tira ja” and cleared the way, the mother/victim asked the alleged person to go first” 

“On this, the accd. Started shouting once again “Kami should learn to respect people of higher status” and started assaulting the victim aged about 64 years with kicks and also caught her by her throat and when the granddaughter tried to stop the alleged person abused her too” said the Police report. In the process, the victim also sustained  injuries.

Further the case is under investigation and one 59 years old   has been detained and  booked under section 341/323/354 IPC, R/W under section  3(X) SC & ST, prevention of atrocities and 3 (R) (S) of  SC&ST under prevention of atrocities amendment ACT of 2015.
