Grand Finale of Miss & Mr Bhutia Lepcha Season One Held in Gangtok
Gangtok, January 7:The grand finale of the first season of Miss & Mr Bhutia Lepcha was held with great enthusiasm at the premises of the Directorate of Handlooms and Handicrafts on January 7. The landmark cultural event marked a significant step towards celebrating the identity, confidence, and talent of the Bhutia and Lepcha communities.
The programme was graced by the Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Shri M. N. Sherpa, along with the Chief Patron of the Organising Committee, Prince Palden Gyurmed Namgyal, and a host of distinguished guests, community leaders, and well-wishers.
The event was organised by Chungkila Bhutia and team, with support from the All Sikkimese Bhutia Association (ASBA) and the Sikkim Lepcha Association (SLA), and was powered by Drakar Films. A total of 29 contestants from the Bhutia and Lepcha communities participated in the competition, competing across various rounds that assessed personality, confidence, cultural awareness, and stage presence.
The judging panel comprised Sonam Choden Bhutia, Thupden Rinzing Bhutia, and Tshela Lizum Lepcha, who evaluated the contestants on multiple parameters to ensure a fair and transparent selection process.
The evening was further enriched by vibrant cultural performances presented by Devotart, Nyizang Palmu Bhutia, Odzer Bhutia, Sorip Lepcha, Sonam Wangdi, Sofiyum Band, artistes from the Chetan Dance Group, and performers from Tashiding, adding colour and cultural depth to the grand finale.
