Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu’s Sikkim visit cancelled once again. His initial visit for the inauguration of Bhaichung Stadium was scheduled on October 20 but due to the continuous torrential downpour leading to major inclement weather and several landslides, mudslides and road blockages in state it was cancelled and rescheduled on October 22.
But as per the Home Department, the rescheduled visit also is put off due to harsh weather. It is further informed that the trip may be rescheduled to future date which hasn’t been announced yet.
Home Department has expressed gratitude towards all the concerned officers for putting best efforts for the Vice President’s visit.
This is the fifth time the Vice President’s visit to Sikkim has been cancelled since the past many years.
