Three IRBJawans from Sikkim shot dead by fellow colleague in Delhi

Three Indian Reserve Batallion Jawans posted in Delhi were shot dead by a colleague using Inas rifle 5.56 mm however, the reason yet to be known.

The incident took place at Haiderpur’s Water Plant in Delhi.

IRB personnel Prabin Rai who hails from Sajong village in Rumtek near Gangtok shot three of his colleagues.

The accused surrendered to the police. As per the report one was unharmed as he was slightly outside of the compound.

The police personnel were guarding the water plant in Rohini area of Delhi.

Three victims are between the age of 30-32 years and was of 2012-13 batch of IRB.

The accused was from 2012 batch.

Pinto Namgyal Bhutia and Indra Lal Chhetri died on the spot while Dhanhang Subba was declared brought dead in the hospital.

According to sources in the IRB, the accused was deployed in Haiderpur water treatment plant few years back. Allegations also run deep that he was a drug abuser.

Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Tamang on the incident said, ” I am shocked and saddened to know that three IRB Jawans, namely LNK Pintso Namgyal Bhutia, CT/IR Indra Lal Chettri, and CT/IR Dhan Hang Subba were shot dead by LNK Prabin Rai ‘B’ at Haiderpur Water Treatment Plant, Rohini, New Delhi. The accused has surrendered before the law and is currently under police custody.”

“I express my heartfelt condolences to the family and relatives of the victims and pray for the departed souls to rest in eternal peace.” Added the statement
