Sikkim achieves 100% success in AFI District technical officer course

Gangtok, June 6, 2025: A proud chapter has been added to Sikkim’s athletics journey as all 21 participants from the state have successfully cleared the District Technical Officer (DTO) Course conducted by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI). The course was held from 12th to 14th May 2025 at Khel Gaon, Resithang, in coordination with the Sikkim Athletics Association.

The three-day programme, led by AFI’s official instructor Mr. Gopal Gosh, provided comprehensive training in technical officiating and athletics event management as per national standards.

The results, declared on 5th June 2025, confirmed the successful certification of all 21 candidates, officially recognising them as District Technical Officers. This achievement raises the number of certified technical officials in Sikkim to 22, significantly strengthening the state’s capacity to host athletics competitions with professionalism and compliance.

The Sikkim Athletics Association congratulates all successful candidates and expresses its appreciation for their dedication and commitment to the sport. This development marks a major boost for the future of athletics in Sikkim, ensuring that competitions are conducted with enhanced precision, fairness, and technical integrity.
