On June 1st, 2025, the youths of Senti Village, in collaboration with the Senti Seven Star Association, organized a vibrant plantation drive to celebrate Pre-World Environment Day in Senti Village, Pakyong District, Namcheybong Constituency.

The event drew inspiration from two significant environmental campaigns: Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi’s “Ek Paudha Maa Ke Naam” and Chief Minister of Sikkim, Prem Singh Tamang Golay’s “Mero Rukh Mero Bato.” Both initiatives focus on the importance of tree planting and nurturing a sustainable environment.

The plantation drive was graced by several distinguished guests, including Bhaichung Bhutia, Incharge of the Public Grievances Cell for Namcheybong Constituency, Zigmee Bhutia, CLC President of Namcheybong Constituency, Grish Rai, Youth Convenor of Namcheybong Constituency, Phip Raj Subba, BO from the Forest Department; and Chandra Maya Rai, Village Panchayat.

Invitees, local youths, SHG members, and villagers enthusiastically participated in the event, planting numerous saplings and reinforcing their commitment to a greener, healthier future.
Further, the organizers extended heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to MK Tamang and Leela Gurung from the Forest Department for generously providing 250 saplings, as well as to all supporting members whose contributions made the plantation drive a resounding success.
