10th Feb 2023, Darjeeling :
After the mega successful opening race in Guwahati on 5th February, The First Ever JSL NFR Northeast Half Marathon is all set to now rock Darjeeling on Sunday 26th February 2023.

With the theme of Developing Northeast & Empowering Sports in line with our Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of DEVELOPING NORTHEAST & NATION BUILDING the JSL NFR NE Half Marathon series curated by Internationally acclaimed festival curator Captain Rahul Bali is being jointly organised by Northeast Frontier Railway & Innovations India.

A Press Conference to officially announce the Half Marathon in Darjeeling was held at the iconic Darjeeling Railway Station on 10th February 2023.

DRM Katihar Sh. S K Choudhary
along with the Curator of the Half Marathon Captain Rahul Bali & Renowned Mountaineer Jamling Tenzing Norgay ( Son of the legendary Tenzing Norgay) addressed the press and media. The Press Conference also saw the presence of Principal HMI Gp. Capt. Jai Kishan, Director DHR Priysnshu & Celebrity Marathon Runner and founder of Vikrun Foundation Vikram Rai among others.

The special thing about this Half Marathon in Darjeeling is that apart from empowering sportspersons, it would be a tribute to the first man to climb Mt. Everest – the legendary Tenzing Norgay as the world celebrates 70 years of conquering the world’s highest summit.

The JSL NFR Northeast Half Marathon would surely catapult Darjeeling into limelight at both National & International Platforms as a large number of runners from across India and the world have already registered for participation.
Approximately 2000 runners from all parts of the world are expected to participate. Prizes worth Rs. 6.5 lacs would be given away to the winners in addition to the Trophies, Medals & Merit Certificates.

The JSL NFR Northeast Half Marathon would not only empower the sportspersons of Northeast India but also create a lot of synergies for their overall growth. It is indeed a brilliant initiative by NFR and towards Nation Building.
