IPR and Press Club Sikkim reps meet DIPR, Mizoram officials

Aizawl, January 12 : The representatives of Information and Public Relations Department (IPR), Government of Sikkim along with members of Press Club of Sikkim, currently participating in the ‘Short Term Training for Media Personnel’ at Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Aizawl visited the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) office, Aizawl and met with their officials today.

The team from Sikkim were cordially welcomed by Director, DIPR Aizawl, C. Lalnunkima (MIS),Joint Director(JD), Mr F. Lalfakzuala ( MIS), JD Andrew H. Lalremruata (MIS), JD Mrs. Mina Zoliani (MIS), Dy. Director Mrs. P.B. Lianthangpuii and Dy. Director Pratap Chhetri.

The visiting team were then escorted through the various sections of the office and an interactive session discussing the similarities and differences in the working pattern of the two departments was held.

Director DIPR, C. Lalnunkima cordially welcomed the team on behalf of the Government of Aizawl and expressed his hope for continued cooperation between the two departments. He commended the initiative of the Sikkim state government for conducting training for the media personnel and emphasized the need of such ventures for the journalists as it will strengthen their foundation while gaining advanced knowledge.

During the course of the interaction, tokens of appreciation were also handed to the team from Sikkim.

Further, they also visited the Press club of Aizawl and briefly interacted with the members of Mizoram Journalist Association (MJA) who were represented by Lalremsiama, Vice President (MJA) and C. Lalhmachhuana, Treasurer (MJA).
