ICFAI University, Sikkim Celebrates the Spirit of Sportsmanship with its 7th Annual Sports Day

The ICFAI University, Sikkim, proudly hosted its two-day extravaganza, marking the 7th Annual Sports Day on May 3rd and 4th, 2024. The event showcased an array of athletic prowess and vibrant spirit, embodying the values of sportsmanship.


The festivities commenced with a vibrant opening ceremony, graced by the esteemed presence of the University’s Registrar, Dr. Rohit Rathi. He emphasized the significance of sportsmanship and mutual respect, setting the tone for the spirited competitions to follow. Students from diverse departments came together in the spirit of friendly competition, reflecting the university’s ethos of unity and talent celebration.


Beyond the realm of competition, the Sports Day celebrated cultural diversity with a series of captivating dance performances. Traditional and contemporary dances added a cultural dimension to the festivities, further enriching the vibrant atmosphere.


On the two days event, Day 1 featured indoor activities including chess, carom, table tennis, and treasure hunt, setting the stage for an exhilarating lineup of events with energy and enthusiasm as students showcased their athletic prowess.


Day 2 witnessed a flurry of outdoor activities at Resithang Khel ground, with a wide range of events such as the 100m hurdle race, sack race, obstacle race, tug of war, blind race, discus throw, shot put, long jump, tunnel ball, balloon burst, biscuit eating, and marble on spoon balance. Participants demonstrated agility, speed, and endurance, captivating the audience with their remarkable performances.


The university extends its heartfelt appreciation to all participants, faculty, staff, and volunteers whose dedication and support contributed to the resounding success of the event. Looking ahead, the ICFAI University, Sikkim, remains committed to fostering the spirit of sportsmanship and cultural appreciation, nurturing the holistic development of its students.
